SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4 AT FILM ROW CINEMA

FtF:Female To Femme
Kami Chisholm and Elizabeth Stark, US, 2006
12:00pm

3:30pm "Feminism & Gender Identity"
panel discussion with filmmakers Kami Chisholm, Amber Hawk Swanson, and Sam Feder following the screening
of Boy I Am

Academic but light-hearted, FtF features a host of fabulous femmes, including actress/writer Guinivere Turner, rock stars Bitch (Bitch + Animal) and Leslie Mah (Tribe8), as well as activists, artists, writers, and academics discussing how they came to their own brand of femme identity. FtF celebrates dyke femme identities and an understanding of femininity as multiple rather than singular, constructed rather than natural, and as potentially radical on someone "born female" as masculinity, which has lately been given a great deal of privilege in the dyke community.
