Winner of the Best Narrative Feature Award at the Tribeca and Outfest Film Festivals, this is the story of the Wongs, a bizarrely dysfunctional Chinese-American family living in the New York suburbs. Ed Wong has just retired and plots to escape his mundane life. However, the tumultuous, madcap lives of his three daughters with their increasingly entangled romantic situations change his plans. The eldest is Sam, a tough NY businesswoman whose engagement is threatened when she runs into her high school flame. The youngest is Katie, a rebellious teenager who pulls pranks that put her whole family at risk. And the middle daughter is Julie, a shy, fourth-year medical student whose life transforms when she meets the gorgeous movie star Mia who sets her heart aflame. Each of their distinctly different lives is masterfully interwoven to reveal the glue that binds the Wong family together. 35mm, 92 min.
