Ugly Ducklings Fawn Yacker, US, 2006 12:00pm

Part of a national campaign to end bias-based bullying and harassment of gay and lesbian youth, this inspirational movie documents the development of the award winning play, Ugly Ducklings, produced during the summer at an all girls’ camp. Throughout the rehearsal process the documentary reveals the actors’ own biases as they intimately discuss homophobia, the evolution of one’s sexual orientation, bullying, and harassment.

Showing with Can LGBT + School = Safe? (Beyondmedia Education, US, 2006), a film that explores the problems of homophobia and bullying in schools and offers proven solutions told by queer and straight youth.
