Funny, taboo and touching, these wistful and beautifully composed shorts will transport you into a dimension quite different from our own. From a dying man who indulges in a fantasy of Dorothy in Oz to escape his final days, to a short documentary on men with a thing for Santa Claus, these are fascinating portraits of the spectrum of gay life. The Police Box (Josh Kim, Hong Kong, 2006): A man and a woman vie for the attention of an officer in uniform. Soft Spot (Arnault Laboronne, France, 2005): A pregnant woman teaches her cheating husband a lesson by inviting his boyfriend to play rough. Sistole/Diastole (Pelayo Muniz, Spain, 2006): When a dying man turns to fantasy to provide him with comfort in his final days, his lover is left alone even before he’s gone. A Hard Blow (Arnault Laboronne, France, 2005): Elsa arrives at Oliver’s apartment ready to be seduced, but what he wants her to do is far more exciting. Attraction to Older Men (Clark Nikolai, Canada, 2005): The title says it all. Tauquero (Daniel Seideveck & Hernando Tascon, Germany, 2005): An older dance teacher and his younger student have a private tango lesson. The Longest One Night Stand (Eduardo W. Roy Jr., Philippines, 2006): Polyamory destroys a relationship when one partner begins to practice behind the other’s back. Guess Who I Saw Today (Abe Sylvia 2006, US): Filmed in one take, this luscious black and white short is a heartbreaking story of deception. Video, Total: 102 min.
