A young prostitute and the wealthy businessman who relentlessly pursues him fall in love in this debut feature by up-and-coming out director Leesong-Hee-il. As a passionate and emotional relationship unfolds, 18-year-old Sumin finally lets his guard down and opens himself up to his star-crossed love. But now it is Jaemin’s turn to pull back as he buckles under the pressures of family obligations, a looming marriage, and the social obligations of his station. A film as much about South Korean class struggles as homosexuality, No Regret is a timeless tale that deviates beautifully from the stereotypes of many gay films as the touching romance between the two leads progresses in a supremely natural and human fashion.

Well received internationally by viewers and critics alike, Variety’s Derek Elley exclaims: “Whether it is the lush, soft-focus lensing of the Seoul nightlife, or the violent spasms exchanged between Sumin and Jaemin, amdist throes of conflicting passion and desire, there is not a single false moment in this auspicious directorial debut.”
